  Gary Grimmer

Gary has over 30 years' experience in the convention industry. He has consulted Houston, Vancouver, Yokohama, Tokyo, Macau, and the countries of South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and Serbia on development of convention and meetings industries. He was a member of Beijing Dongcheng's International Advisory Council and currently serves on Destination DC's (Washington) Client Advisory Board. His convention centre consulting experience includes market feasibility, demand analysis, facility scoping, design review, site review, and operational consultation for convention centre developments in Nigeria, Oman, Malaysia, Mexico and Australia. He also served on the London International Convention Centre Commission which developed recommendations on a proposed new convention centre for London, UK. While he is both Australian and American, he is originally from the United States where he was CEO at bureaus in Portland, Oregon and Albuquerque, New Mexico and Vice President of the Boston, Massachusetts bureau. Gary is a former Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (now DMAI) and former Chairman of the Business Events Council of Australia. In 2014 he was one of the first six inductees into the inaugural DMAI Hall of Fame. Earlier, in 2007, he received the IMEX Academy for Asia Pacific Award. Today, his consultancy GainingEdge which he founded in 2004 is one of the most well-known in the business, and with clients from around the world.

Jane joined GainingEdge as Senior Associate in June 2009 and for six years took on the role as Managing Director of BestCities Global Alliance when GainingEdge was appointed as the alliance’s professional management company. In mid-2015, she left this role and is now focused on GainingEdge’s business and relationships in Asia. Jane has worked with bureaus and tourism offices in Hangzhou, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Macau, Indonesia and Thailand as part of the consulting team in GainingEdge. She helped establish GainingEdge’s signature events GainingLeads and GainingConnections Forum. From June 2014, she was Senior Manager - Asia and included business development under her portfolio. Prior to this role, Jane served for 8 years as Regional Director Asia Pacific for the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) and established a research unit dedicated to studying association meetings and supplementing the market intelligence efforts of ICCA’s Head Office in Amsterdam. She had also worked in Malaysia’s National Tourist Office, Tourism Malaysia, where she played a marketing communications role. She served as the Deputy Director (Overseas) for Tourism Malaysia’s Sydney Office for four years. In 2013, Jane was honoured with the IMEX Academy Award, Asia Pacific. Jane is currently member of the Executive Committee and Deputy Chair of ICCA’s Asia Pacific Chapter. On the side line, Jane has spearheaded several CSR programmes for local communities. To date, the ICCA Members Gift of Love (GOL) Projects have made contributions to the Shanghai International Communication Center for The Disabled; the Foundation for Children with Leukemia, Turkey; Haciendo Camimo, and most recently the Sarawak Bookshare Programme which collected English books for libraries and community centres in rural Sarawak, Malaysia.

Michaela is responsible for marketing and communications for Dragon Trail Interactive. Prior to this, Michaela lead the promotion of bilateral trade between Australia and China at the Australia China Business Council – Victorian Division. With an early background in tourism, Michaela worked as a consultant for the Italian Tourism Board in Beijing after the introduction of ADS visas for Chinese citizens. Michaela has lived in China for seven years, in Australia for six and the U.S. for two years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese studies from Ca’ Foscari University and Master’s Degree in Marketing from The University of Melbourne.

Vicky Zhang is Assistant General Manager of Info Salons China. She is in charge of Sales and Marketing department and conference and international account department in Greater China.

Vicky Zhang joined Info Salons China in 2006. She successfully launched the Info Salons China conference department and led the team to operate the global events since 2008. She was certified as CEM (Certified in Exhibition Management) by IAEE, and with her over 10 years’ experience in project management, Vicky Zhang manage multiple projects successfully such as Barclays Asia Forum, GSMA Mobile Asia Expo, China Overseas Investment Summit , SEMICON Taiwan, Dell Asia Summit, G2E Asia.
